LOVE? NO. I PREFER VODKA.

I’ve become a drinking expert by now. The party boy inside of me started to doze off, and instead of a weekend bender I now prefer a classy drink. So here I am, suggesting you three really sophisticated choices. I went to the launching event for the new Absolut Vodka bottle designed by American artist David Kinsey, based on a floral theme. This limited edition bottle was unveiled at the popular tattoo shop Milano City Ink, where I got a chance to talk to some of their tattoo artists. And thanks to Koji Yamaguchi, Japanese, I found out that flowers, in the eastern culture, have a very different meaning than what we’re used to. While talking to Koji, I couldn’t help thinking about the drinks I just tasted. My suggestion? These aren’t just three delicious drinks, but also peculiar feelings tied to a particular flower, which could also become the inspiration for a really cool tattoo!

ABSOLUT BERRY FOX

ABSOLUT BERRY FOX

A colorful drink, with a delicate although intense taste. In fact, the cranberry juice brings along an unbelievably energetic flavor. Atrue party drink, lively and careless. These feeling are recalled by the flowery ingredient, hibiscus: a happiness elixir, which symbolizes life and celebration. It’s the essence of pleasure and serenity.

WILD NEW ABSOLUT

Strong and vigorous, Wild New Absolut recalls tenacity and toughness. What makes the vodka’s flavor more roborant is the elderflower, which gives this drink a solid taste. The flower that better recalls these feelings is peony, which represents the male hero, brave and daring, protecting the people with his strength.

KINSEY MOJITO

KINSEY MOJITO

This is more than a simple mojito. The Kinsey has a stronger taste but keeps the typical drink’s sweetness thanks to cane sugar. Its taste reminds of a particular flower, or better its petal. That is spring-blooming cherry, the symbol of samurai, which are the ultimate heroes doomed to a tragic destiny. A sterling drink, hiding an emotional dimension that begs to be discovered.
